Better Beginnings

betterbeginnings

Better Beginnings is a State Library of Western Austraia initiative that brings together research and practice, babies and books, families and libraries by introducing children to developmentally appropriate books and language activities by supporting parents as their children's first teachers and raising awareness of the value of reading. Reading to babies from birth builds their early language skills and gives them an early love of books that will support their future success as readers.

Visit the Better Beginnings Website for home fun, games, books, literacy tips and more.....

Early Childhood Activities in the Library

It's All About Rhymes in the Library

It's All About Rhymes in the Library

Come along to It's All About Rhymes in the Library and join in the fun as we sing songs and action rhymes, and share great books for babies. During sessions parents, grandparents and carers sit with their child and the group leader guides everyone through a selection of songs and rhymes. It's noisy, fun and a wonderful chance to learn some new songs for bedtime, bathtime or when you're stuck in the car. We sing each song a few times so that we can all learn the words. Rhymes and songs are great for growing baby brains! You can find out more here.

Visit our Events Calendar for session times and information about other events that may be of interest to you. Select your local branch or ALL locations to view upcoming events.

Sessions are usually for children from birth to 2 years.

It's All About Rhymes in the Library is FREE and bookings are not necessary.
